Pre&Post Care
Neurotoxins (Xeomin)
Pre-Treatment Instructions:
• Discontinue the use of anti-inflammatory medications and supplements such as Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Aspirin, Motrin, Vitamin E, fish oil, St. John’s Wort, and similar products for 14 days before your treatment, unless otherwise directed by your physician. These products can increase the likelihood of bruising.
• You may begin taking Arnica Montana approximately 7 days prior to your appointment to help minimize potential bruising. Bruising is uncommon with Xeomin injections, but Arnica can be helpful for individuals who bruise easily.
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment, as it may increase the risk of bruising.
• If you have an upcoming event such as a wedding, vacation, or special occasion, schedule your injections at least 4 weeks in advance. This allows enough time for the product to fully take effect and for a 2-week follow-up or touch-up appointment if necessary.
• Treatment cannot be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. There is no required waiting period once breastfeeding has ended.
Post-Treatment Care:
• Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours following your injections.
• Refrain from strenuous exercise for at least 4 hours after treatment. Light activities such as walking are acceptable.
• Yoga should be avoided for 24 hours after your appointment.
• You may exercise before your appointment, so plan your workout schedule accordingly.
• Do not lie down or recline for 4 hours following your injections.
• Avoid facials, facial massages, exfoliating treatments, or the use of cleansing devices (such as Clarisonic-style brushes) for 24 hours after treatment.
• Stay away from tanning beds, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours, as excessive heat may affect the effectiveness of the treatment.
• If bruising occurs at the injection site, you may apply a cold compress or ice pack to help reduce swelling and discoloration.
• Evaluate your results around the 2-week mark. If you notice any uneven or remaining movement, please contact our office to schedule a follow-up appointment. Any necessary touch-ups during this visit will be provided at no additional charge.
• At your next appointment, typically around 90 days, we can make any adjustments needed to ensure your results continue to look balanced and natural.
Chemical Peels
Pre-Peel Preparation Guidelines:
• Discontinue the use of exfoliating products for 48 hours before your appointment.
• Avoid skincare products containing AHAs, BHAs, retinol, or self-tanning products for 7 days prior to treatment.
• Do not undergo waxing, hair removal treatments, or hair bleaching in the treatment area for at least 14 days before your peel.
• Limit sun exposure and avoid UV tanning for 14 days prior to your appointment to reduce the risk of skin sensitivity and irritation.
Post-Peel Care Instructions:
• If possible, avoid applying makeup for 24–48 hours after your treatment to allow the skin time to recover.
• Do not use products containing AHAs, BHAs, or retinol for at least 14 days following your peel.
• Refrain from waxing, hair removal treatments, or hair bleaching in the treated area for 14 days after your appointment.
• Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas for 14 days post-treatment, as heat and moisture may irritate the skin.
• Do not use tanning beds, self-tanning products, or intentionally tan the skin for 14 days after your peel.
• Keep the skin well hydrated by using a gentle, nourishing moisturizer as the skin heals.
• It is very important to apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily after your treatment to protect the skin from sun exposure and to help maintain optimal results.
Hydro Glow Facial – Post Treatment Care
First 24 Hours After Your Facial:
Avoid touching or picking at the skin
Your skin has just gone through a deep cleansing and exfoliation process. Even if you notice small blemishes or clogged pores, avoid squeezing or picking at the skin as this can cause irritation, inflammation, or breakouts.
Postpone intense workouts
If possible, complete your workout before your facial appointment. Excess heat and sweating from exercise later in the day may irritate freshly exfoliated skin.
Day 2–3 After Treatment
Keep your skincare routine simple
Avoid using strong or active skincare products for the first few days after your facial. This includes products containing retinol, salicylic acid, exfoliating acids, strong toners, or at-home chemical peels. These products may overstimulate or irritate the skin.
Skip additional facial treatments or masks
Give your skin time to recover before using exfoliating masks, acne treatments, or brightening treatments.
Limit direct sun exposure
Your skin may be slightly more sensitive following treatment. When outdoors, wear broad-spectrum sunscreen and protective accessories such as a hat to help prevent sun damage.
Days 4–7 After Treatment
Delay waxing or laser treatments on the face
Hair removal treatments such as waxing can further exfoliate the skin. It is recommended to wait at least one week before scheduling waxing, laser treatments, or other exfoliating procedures on the face.
Maintaining Your Results
Hydro Glow treatments are designed to cleanse, exfoliate, extract impurities, and deeply hydrate the skin, leaving your complexion clearer, smoother, and more radiant. While the treatment itself is gentle and relaxing, following proper aftercare will help maintain your results and support healthy skin.
