Red light therapy for fat loss sounds like something invented on social media. Light that shrinks fat cells? But there’s real science underneath the claim, along with real limits. Here’s the honest version.
The science, briefly
Red light therapy (also called low-level laser therapy, LLLT, or photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of light (roughly 635–850 nm) that penetrate the skin and interact with fat cells.
