IPL Photofacial Lumecca IPL Photofacial

Erase sun damage and redness, often in 1–3 sessions

Open Mon–Fri, 10 AM–5 PM — Wed & Thu until 7 PM. Working during the day? Saturday visits by appointment.

Lumecca IPL photofacial in progress, with the handpiece delivering light pulses to a client’s cheek

Lumecca is intense pulsed light (IPL) at its most effective, delivering up to three times more energy in the key wavelengths that target pigment and vessels than standard IPL devices. That power translates into results Wichita clients can see fast: sun spots, age spots, freckling, redness, and broken capillaries visibly improve in as few as one to three treatments.

You may be a good candidate for IPL Photofacial if…

  • You have sun spots, age spots, or freckles
  • Your face looks red, or you can see tiny veins
  • Years of sun are showing on your chest or hands
  • You want to see a change in 1–3 sessions
  • You can stay out of the sun for a few weeks

Sound like you? Your first consultation is free — we’ll talk through your goals together and map out a plan that fits them.

How a photofacial works

Pulses of broad-spectrum light pass harmlessly through the skin’s surface and are absorbed by brown pigment and red blood vessels below. The targeted spots darken and flake away over the following week, while treated vessels fade, revealing clearer, more uniform skin tone.

Where Lumecca shines

The face, neck, chest, and hands (the areas that accumulate the most sun exposure) respond beautifully. Lumecca is a favorite for reversing visible sun damage from Kansas summers and restoring an even, luminous complexion.

Powered by the Lumecca Peak handpiece

Skincredible treats with the Lumecca Peak, InMode’s newest-generation IPL handpiece. It delivers its energy in a more uniform, precisely filtered pulse than earlier IPL, which means efficient clearance of pigment and vessels with excellent comfort and a low risk of hot spots. Fewer, better-controlled pulses translate to the fast, even results this treatment is known for.

Preparing for your photofacial and aftercare

Because IPL is drawn to pigment, come to your session with your natural skin tone: avoid tanning beds, sunburn, and self-tanner for three to four weeks beforehand, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30 daily in the lead-up. Pause retinoids and other irritant topicals for two to three days prior, and if you take blood thinners, ask your prescribing provider before pausing them. Only stop if they approve. Afterward, treated spots darken and flake over about a week; moisturizer soothes the skin, makeup can go on immediately, and diligent SPF for at least three weeks protects your fresh results.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

What does IPL treatment feel like?

Each pulse feels like a light snap against the skin, similar to a rubber band. Sessions are quick, and most clients tolerate treatment easily without numbing.

What happens to my sun spots afterward?

Treated pigment typically darkens within hours (often described as a “coffee ground” look), then naturally flakes away over five to ten days, revealing clearer skin beneath.

When is the best time of year for IPL?

Fall through spring is ideal, since treated skin should avoid significant sun exposure. If you’re treating summer sun damage, we’ll plan your series and sun-protection strategy accordingly.

How should I prepare for a Lumecca session?

Avoid tanning beds, sunburn, and self-tanner for three to four weeks before treatment, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30 daily beforehand. IPL targets pigment, so treating pre-tanned skin isn’t safe. Pause retinoids and other irritant topicals for two to three days prior. If you take blood thinners, check with your prescribing provider before pausing them and only stop if approved.

What is the aftercare like?

You can apply makeup immediately after treatment and resume most of your routine right away. Treated spots darken and flake off over roughly a week. Let them shed naturally. Moisturize to keep skin comfortable, and wear SPF 30 or higher for at least three weeks to protect your results.

Show care instructions Hide care instructions

Before your appointment

  • Avoid tanning and self-tanner for 3–4 weeks prior. Tanned or sunburned skin cannot be treated safely.
  • Wear SPF 30+ any time you’re outdoors during daylight hours in the weeks leading up to your session.
  • Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other irritant topicals 2–3 days before your appointment.
  • If you take blood thinners, ask your prescribing provider before pausing them. Only stop if approved.
  • You may shave the treatment area beforehand; long or dark hair can absorb light and mark the skin.

After your treatment

  • Treated spots typically darken before flaking off over the following days. Let them shed on their own; do not pick or scrub.
  • Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily for 3 weeks after treatment.
  • Moisturizer is fine to use right away.
  • Makeup may be applied immediately after your session.
